Plenty of reasons to go to Canada
1) Peake Freans
2) Super Nibs
3) Wunderbars
4) Wine Gums

I could go on and on and on.... ;)

Well, the problem now is this: The super nibs, say they were 3.00 CDN. Back in the day that amounted to 2.00-2.50 USD, so there'd be enough money to buy a small Wunderbar. Now they're 3.00 USD!

Case in point: You know the Family Resources catalog that came with the Ensign? A DVD in the US is 4.50, in Canada is 5.40. Those Canadians would probably come to the states to buy it and return! Just like we used to go to Canada for good cheap food, well it aint cheap anymore. :(

True true, very sad to have to pay MORE just to get those delicious treats now...

That leads me to a macroeconomics questions....if the USD is on parity with CAD, if this keeps up for the long term, does that mean that prices of comparable items will level out over time, since goods are "cheaper" now in the US with the value of the dollar?

So using Mark's case in point, a DVD which is 4.50 in the US and 5.40 in Canada, will that reverse over time and say "meet in the middle" at $5 in either Canada or the US? (assuming dollar parity remains). The more I think about it, the more my brain hurts thinking economics! :)
