Wow.
They say that fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent on your car insurance. So I guess since I spent forty minutes, I was able to save forty percent!
I confirm this. I checked with every single company I could think of for quotes, and Geico still came out cheapest, so we reupped for another six. Yay for Geckos!
HAha - Geiko over Allstate, huh? I actually switched away from Geiko and ended up with a lower rate and much higher coverage. A company called American National. But I just mention this so you're aware that Geiko is not necessarily the best. Also, the companies that combine home, car, life and other insurances (all ones that you need) usually give you a better deal. Did you check with the insurers of your home?
Actually, I started with Geico, and because the rates kept going up, we switched to Liberty Mutual because they had a good rate with Homeowner's combined...but they recently went up over $100 so I thought I'd shop around again. I also heard good things about Erie Insurance (an East Coast thing), and it is actually cheaper, but it requires that you go in and talk with an agent. I'd much rather do it online.
Geico also offers homeowner's insurance, but it's underwritten by another company, and unless you're in Georgia, there's no discount. But the rates are pretty comparable.
I should have known that Andrew & Mark's already researched everything forwards and backwards. But for the rest of you! :) Have combined insurance complicates things.
