Spring has sprung

It's nice to be able to get out of the house and not have to worry about it being too cold.
Here's our pics from the past month.
Included are Easter, Tang's visit, kids at the farm, Andrew's birthday, National Cherry Blossom Festival, baby cousin Charlotte, and Kim's visit and the playground.

BTW, we've had to lower the asking price for our home to $335. Please pass the word along and help us sell our house.
Ok I really ment $335 thousand.

Are you looking for an update?

Well, so am I!

While going through our visitor statistics, I noticed quite a few people searching for flaky eyelids in the last few weeks or so, and they end up landing at my blog entry about the whole eye saga I encountered about a year ago today. I guess I should give an update on how they are doing this year.

Well, it is Hanami/Cherry Bl. time, which means for us allergy/hay feverists, it means it's time to stock up on nasal sprays, decongestants, allergy pills, eye drops, kleenex, and pho (the best nasal (and colon--sorry tmi) passage cleaner ever). Eyes have been fine so far; outside of the usual spring itchiness, which seems like no eye drop can cure, I can still wear contacts for a good part of the day, but night time as it nears midnight, they get itchy. Ice in a Ziploc and then packed in a towel against the eye seems to cure that itchiness, but there has got to be an eye drop out there...anybody? Yes, and the obvious answer would be - well, duh, just go to sleep earlier. Sorry, that doesn't happen here. So we need another solution--literally.

It was definitely nice to find out that the flaky itchy eyelids I had was "just" eczema and not something bacterial or something that would make my eyelids thick or blur my vision forever, etc. Knowing it's eczema means that really the best way to get rid of any bumps or any itchiness is to not rub, touch, or scratch it.

...Speaking of which, I'd better go grab some ice.

Baseball season started last week, just in time to add another distraction on to my list. My M's are back to their old self, blowing leads late in the game...although Ichiro needs to start hitting soon! And the Nats were undefeated for three games, which is quite the feat. The new stadium is amazing as well! I'm currently working on planning a work team building event at the new stadium...using the codeword "600m investment building next to the Navy Yard" so others outside the team don't get suspicious or think we're on a boondoggle. This team building event will commence at 4:30pm and a team from Atlanta will show us a few hitters.

Home Improvements

We're kicking ourselves for not getting around to these home improvement projects until now. I guess we needed a deadline, like selling the house, for us to get our act together. And its not as fun, cause now we've got to select paint colors, light fixtures, etc. to what would suit a potential buyer instead of what we like. Like the color of our dining room isn't what I would have picked but its a nice neutral color to appeal to more people.
Anyway, we're pretty much done with the big projects. Now we got a small list of projects around the house to make it move in ready, and to declutter and depersonalize (like take down our family photos) for open houses. I'm most worried about keeping the house clean with Evan around. Give him 30 mins and the house looks like a war zone! I'm thinking of packing ALL his toys away and giving him a few to play with in his room only. The crazy thing I'm gonna have to put up with is people calling at random times wanting to see the house and I have to stop what I'm doing, straighten up the house, and pack the kids and the dog up, and hang out somewhere for an hour, without Mark's help. Its such a production for me to just to go to the grocery store when planned ahead of time! I hope the weather warms up soon, then we can just go on a walk.
Anyway, here's some pics of what we've been working on around the house in the past couple weeks, not in the order that we worked on them. If you're wondering how we managed to do so much with two kids around? We are lucky to have kids that can sleep through the noise of power tools! We work while they nap, or take turns watching the kids, and work late into the night. And thanks to Andrew and David for lending a hand too!
