Daddy getting Evan settled for bed -- notice the friggin' time!
Evan is almost a month old, and he's already at 10 lbs! He gives his mommy a backache when he wants to be carried in his sling.
Yesterday, as I was just getting Evan to fall asleep, when he suddenly screamed at the top of his lungs! Turns out, with all the hair he has, his right arm found its way to the back of his head and had grabbed a fist full of his own hair and he wouldn't let go! Silly Evan. It took about an hour after that to get him back to sleep.

Little Lucy gets cozy with Evan

I am so surprised at how well Lucy has adjusted to Evan joining our family.

Evan passed his 1 week old mark a few days ago, and the funny thing was, I felt like he was growing up too fast! He's only 12 days old, which you'd think isn't that much time, but I've already seen Evan grow so much! His hair seems longer, he looks longer, and I know he's gotten more chubby. And it's such a cute chubby! His little personality is coming out too.

We've had family in town the last few days, and I really appreciate all the help they've given Mark and I. Even if its just keeping me sane from having not left the 2,200 square feet of our home for the last 12 days.

I left for a few hours today to take my father to the airport and make a quick stop to Best Buy. It was the longest I've ever been away from Evan. Not that I was missing him to tears and stressed out with worry about him, but it was nice to take a break.

I had left him with my mom, and he was just getting fussy when I returned. And then the most amazing thing happened! He heard my voice, turned to look at me, and seemed to calm down. That was so amazing! He's growing up so fast! I guess this is why people want to have lots of children, just to recapture these moments.

Did I mention that Evan has super powers? When you hold him, he has the ability to suck the life force out of you. Leaveing your lifeless body passed out on the couch under him.

We took Evan for his first doctor appointment. Most babies loose weight after they're born and it takes them about 2 weeks to gain it back. Our little hungry hippo has managed to gain it all back in 5 days. Perhaps its all in his hair?

Overall, things are going well. Gotta go! Its time for a diaper change.

Words cannot describe how amazing it feels when you come home from the hospital, hold your sleeping baby in your arms, and realize how much you love this little piece of you, that you've just met for the first time a few hours ago. A friend described it as "falling in love again". I think its an even greater high!
